Synopsis
Maia, a single mother, lives in Montreal with her teenage daughter, Alex. On Christmas Eve, they receive an unexpected delivery: notebooks, tapes, and photos that Maia sent to her best friend from 1980’s Beirut. Maia refuses to open the box or confront its memories, but Alex secretly begins diving into it. Between fantasy and reality, Alex enters the world of her mother’s tumultuous, passionate adolescence during the Lebanese civil war, unlocking mysteries of a hidden past.

Waleed (40) lives in Haifa with his wife and children and dreams of a writing career while suffering from chronic depression. He develops a close friendship with his neighbour (a small-time crook) with an ulterior plot in mind. While the scheme turns into an unexpected friendship between the two men, it leads them into a journey of dark encounters.

Palestine Cinema Days Festival is an annual event organized by Film Lab: Palestine in October of each year. It aims to put Palestine on the map of the global Cinema industry and the film scene, in addition to promoting local and international films across several places in different cities within Palestine. Film Lab: Palestine launched the first edition of Palestine Cinema Days in 2014 (which was called Cinema Days) and it has become an annual tradition ever since.
