Beyond the Frontlines: Tales of Resistance and Resilience from Palestine

Synopsis
The film takes us on a journey both within our own minds and on the roads of Palestine, led by Palestinian psychiatrist and writer Dr. Samah Jabr. An heir to anticolonial psychiatrist Dr. Frantz Fanon, she exposes the psychological strategies and consequences of Israeli occupation, and the ways in which Palestinians have learned to cope.

Ala Eddine Slim

Biography
Ala Eddine Slim was born in 1982. He is the co-founder of Exit Productions. He has carried out several trainings at different workshops and made several short films. His film The Last of Us won the prestigious Lion of the Future award at Venice Film Festival 2016.

Sophie Boutros

Biography
Sophie Boutros earned a Bachelor Degree in Directing for TV and Film at the Académie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts (ALBA), Lebanon. For 6 years after her graduation, she worked as a director on several TV shows in Lebanon and Dubai.

Ziad Doueiri

Biography
Born in Beirut, Ziad Doueiri grew up during the civil war and left Lebanon at age 20 to study in the United States. He graduated from San Diego State University with a film degree and worked as an assistant and camera operator in Los Angeles. In 1998, he wrote and directed his first feature film West Beirut, which was awarded internationally.

Annemarie Jacir

Biography
Annemarie Jacir has two films premiering as official selections of the Cannes Film Festival, one in Venice, Berlin and Locarno. She has written, directed and produced over sixteen films. With a commitment to teaching, training and hiring locally, Annemarie also curates, actively promoting independent cinema in the region. Founder of Philistine Films, she collaborates regularly with fellow filmmakers. She also teaches screenwriting and works as a freelance editor and screenwriter.

Ali Kareem Obaid

Biography
Born 1984, is an Iraqi filmmaker. In 2011 he graduated as Theater Director from the Academy of Fine Arts, Baghdad University. In 2016 he finished his Master in Choreography and Performance at the Institute for Applied Theatre Studies, Gießen University (Germany). His first short film Hassan in Wonderland has been part of 45 film festivals all around the world, and has won seven awards, lastly the Van Gogh Award for the Best Family Film at Amsterdam Film Festival 2015. 

Antboy: Revenge of the Red Fury

Synopsis
Antboy has defeated his archenemy The Flea, who is now locked away in a padded cell. He is more popular than ever and enjoying life as a superhero. But his powers are useless against Christian, the new boy in school. Antboy has a crush on Ida, but Christian, a charming but two-faced do-gooder, is trying to steal her away from him. As if that wasn’t bad enough, our hero also finds himself being haunted by a mysterious invisible enemy: The Red Fury has announced her arrival.
