Synopsis
Twelve Palestinian women talk of their life before the Diaspora; of their memories, of their lives and of their identity. Their narratives are connected by the enduring thread of the ancient art of embroidery. Twelve resilient, determined and articulate women from disparate walks of life stitch together the story of their homeland, of their dispossession, and of their unwavering determination that justice will prevail.
Biography
Marta Pajek was born in 1982 in Kielce, Poland. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, where she specialized in animated film in the class of Jerzy Kucia. As part of an exchange programme she studied in Turku Arts Academy in the class of Priit Pärn. Marta is author of the animated shorts After Apples, Nextdoor and Sleepincord. She lives and works in Krakow.

Born in Győr, Hungary, in 1995, Eszter Jánka is currently studying at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne, majoring in animation.

It is nice and fun to have a cat or some other pet at home to play with. The trusting cat also thought to himself: it is so great to have a home... Until the moment it found itself trapped in a bag, somewhere out on the street, all alone, left to its faith. Nevertheless – all is well that ends well!

Mohamed Kordofani is a Sudanese filmmaker who made Nyerkuk, Kejers Prison, and A Tour in Love Republic. Nyerkuk won the Black Elephant Award for Best Sudanese Film, the NAAS Award for Best Arab Film at the Carthage Film Festival, the Jury Award at the Oran International Arab Film Festival, and Arnone-Belavite Pellegrini Award at the FCAAA in Milan. Kejers Prison was screened during the Sudanese revolution at the sit-in square in front of thousands of protesters. A Tour in Love Republic was the first pro-revolution film to be broadcast on Sudan's national TV.
