Doris Hakim

Doris Hakim was born in Nazareth to a Palestinian father and a Greek mother. This background played an important role in her artistic development, triggering her to explore the effects and conception of society, religion and politics, focusing on the meaning of issues such as democracy, equality and boundaries. Hakim left Nazareth and moved to Greece aged 20. She studied Theology and then Fine Arts. Moving to Spain, she continued with an MA degree and is currently undertaking a PhD.

Shuruq Harb

Shuruq Harb is a visual artist and writer based in Ramallah, Palestine. Her latest work “The Keeper” is a limited edition artist book on the circulation and distribution of images within the Ramallah city landscape. Her work has been exhibited locally and internationally, A Book of Signatures, a mixed media installation collected 250 signatures from different individuals named ‘Mohammad’ in Palestine and was exhibited at Ikon Galley (Birmingham, 2010) and Istanbul Biennial 2011.

Suha Araj

Suha Araj creates films that explore the displacement of immigrant communities. The Cup Reader, shot in Palestine, screened at the Tribeca Film Festival and was awarded The Next Great Filmmaker Award at the Berkshire International Film Festival and Baghdad International Film Festival. Araj followed with Pioneer High. She has received support for her work from the Sundance Film Festival, Torino Film Lab, Independent Filmmaker Project, Berlinale Talent Project Market, Center for Asian American Media and Cine Qua Non Lab.

Ahmad Saleh

Ahmad Saleh is a Palestinian/German writer and director. His first film, House (2012) was nominated for the German Short Film Award and his second film, Ayny (2016) won the Student Academy Award. Recently he finished his third short film, Night and is developing his first feature.

 

Akram Alwaara

Akram Alwaara is an independent filmmaker from Bethlehem. He worked on the production teams of the following upcoming films:  Father & Daughter by Majdi El-Omari, Huda’s Salon by Hani Abu Assad and Kazoz by Amira Diab. Akram also works as a freelance journalist, videographer and editor for major media publishers including AJ+, Mondoweiss, Middle East Eye, Palestine News Network (PNN).

 

Waseem Khair

Waseem Khair is a Palestinian actor and director, born in 1986, he produced his first short film Throe in 2014. He worked with the Palestinian cooperation for radio and television directing many television shows. Nowadays, he is preparing for his second short live action Between Death. Waseem Khair has experience of theatrical shows, in directing and acting. He also won prizes for best director and best actor from international theatrical festivals.

 

 

KHALED HOURANI

Khaled Hourani is a prominent Palestinian artist, curator and writer. A painter and a conceptual artist, in 2013, he was awarded the Leonore Annenberg Prize, Creative Time for Art and Social Change in New York City. In 2014, he organized his first retrospective at the CCA in Glasgow and Gallery One in Ramallah. Most recently, another retrospective showcased at Darat Al Funun, Amman, Jordan in 2017. Hourani was also the initiator of the 2011 Picasso in Palestine project, and The Stone Distance to Jerusalem project.

SELINA UKWUOMA

Selina Ukwuoma is a freelance script consultant who began her career at literary agency Curtis Brown working on theatre, film and television projects including 2008 BAFTA winner Boy A. She has since gone on to advise on award-winning indies such as 2014 Teddy winner The Way He Looks and 2018 Goyas' triumph Summer 1993. As well as consulting for production companies and designing and running development initiatives such as the Realness Screenwriters’ Residency and Episodic Lab and the Film Prize of the Robert Bosch Foundation.

FAIÇAL HASSARI

 Faical Hassari Graduated from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Tunisia and then from the School of Film, Television and Theater in the Polish city of Lodz. Fayçal Hassari has been working in the field of television and film production for more than thirty years and today he leads the film production department at Metafora Productions. Among the films he worked on, appear titles such as A Son by Mehdi Barsaoui (2019), 200 Meters by Ameen Nayfeh (2020) and The Stranger by Ameer Fakher Eldin (2021).
