Chloé Mazlo

Chloé Mazlo is a French-Lebanese filmmaker living in Paris. After studying graphic design at the Ecole Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Strasbourg, she specialised in making animated films combining different techniques. Her short films have been selected in numerous international festivals and have won several awards. In 2020, she directed her first feature film, Skies of Lebanon, which was selected for the Critics' Week in Cannes.

TRAPPED

Synopsis
Different women from various social backgrounds find themselves trapped in the events unfolding in the Egyptian streets and apartment blocks. Their entrapment is not necessarily limited to concrete walls and locked doors, but is imposed by inner conflicts and thoughts. Even though the women share similar dreams of breaking free from social constraints and conditions, each fights her own battle.

Manal Khaled

Manal Khaled is an Egyptian filmmaker who studied Philosophy at the University of Alexandria. She worked in Misr International Film and has vast experience working with award-winning directors, such as Saad Hendawi, Kamla Abou Zekri, Hani Khalifa, and Mohamed Ali. Also, she attended many masterclasses and workshops on filmmaking, screenwriting, and film criticism. Most recently, she has finished shooting her feminist feature documentary film An Hour or So with American director Adolfo Martinez.

 

 

AMIRA

Synopsis
Amira is a bubbly 17-year-old who has grown-up believing she was conceived with the smuggled sperm of her imprisoned father. Her sense of identity is shattered when another attempt to conceive a child with her father’s smuggled sperm reveals he is infertile, rattling her community and turning her family against itself. Amira embarks on a quest to discover her biological father, and salvage what is left of her identity as her world falls apart

Mohamed Diab

Thriving writer/director, Mohamed Diab, studied Commerce and Business Management. After graduation, Diab worked at one of the international banks in Cairo, but he soon discovered his love for writing. He chose to pursue his passion by studying script writing at the New York Film Academy in 2005. His debut film, (Real Dreams) (2006), was a commercial success. Afterwards, he wrote (The Island) (2007), which made over 20 million EGP in theaters. His directorial debut came with 678, which he also wrote.

Uberto Pasolini

Uberto Pasolini has worked in the British Film Industry since 1983. After ten years working in various roles at Columbia Pictures, he founded the production company Red Wave Films. With his company he produced the worldwide celebrated The Full Monty, which grossed over 250 million dollars internationally, won a BAFTA for Best Film and was nominated for 4 Oscars. In 2008 Uberto directed Machan, which he also co-wrote and produced. The film went on to win numerous international festival awards including Best European Film Giornate degli Autori/Venice Days.
