Gottfried Mentor

Gottfried Mentor was born in 1981 in Strasbourg, and resides in Germany. He started freelancing as of 2004 in the film and TV industry. In 2012, he obtained a diploma from the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy, with a focus on Directing, Animation, and Conceptualization.

Julia Ocker

Julia Ocker is an animation director, designer and writer based in Stuttgart. She was born in 1982 in Pforzheim, Germany and grew up in the Black Forrest. She studied Graphic Design in Pforzheim and Cairo, and Animation at Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. Her films cover a wide range of subjects, from her dark and frightening drama KELLERKIND, to the ingeniously funny, ZEBRA. In 2017, Julia made a whole series of animal films called ANIMANIMALS, and she is very excited about that!

Sophie Olga de Jong and Sytske Kok

Sophie Olga de Jong grew up in the small village of Bergen in the Netherlands. Being the daughter of an illustrator and having ambition to become a comic artist, she started drawing at an early age yet had trouble repeating the same characters. Whilst attending St Joost Art School, Sophie became quite fond of animation, and had no trouble drawing the same character 24 times for every second of a film. She directed her first hand-drawn film, FOR THE TIME BEING, co-directed the short animation film, CYCLE, and has worked on projects for TV shows, music videos, and art animations for museums and theaters.

Sytske Kok studied writing and directing at the Netherlands Film Academy and the Binger Filmlab. She received awards in international film festivals, namely for the short film she directed, CHINESE WALL, which won the Clermont-Ferrand and Interfilm Berlin; TUNNEL VISION, the TV-film she wrote; and CYCLE, the short animation film she wrote and co-directed. Besides writing, Sytske also teaches scriptwriting at the Amsterdam Film School and at St Joost Academy’s Animation Department. She is board treasurer at the Dutch Writers Guild and was a jury member of the Uppsala Short Film Festival and chair of the jury for the Louis Hartlooper award.

Wouter Bongaerts

Wouter Bongaerts, an animation director, obtained his master’s degree in Animation at the Luca School of Arts in Genk, Belgium, and things got rolling after that. His graduation project, MOUSE FOR SALE, screened at various international film festivals and received over a dozen prizes including the coveted VAF Wildcard, granting the winner a scholarship to create their first professional short film. This resulted in MIA: Woulter’s directorial debut, which picked up world prizes including in Clermont-Ferrand, the Austin Film Festival, and Anima Brussels. The short also made it to the Academy Oscar longlist selection.
